Thumbs up Is linking a solution to Plagiarism?

We know all the rules of plagiarism, but I were wondering if plagiarism can be excusable on the web if the writer credit the source with a link?

According to me, linking brings credit to the company at the orginin of the story, supporting and encouraging people to go to that other site. I also consider that links create more value around original content. So while there may be tens, if not hundreds, of blogs and sites coping a big story, if they link, the links will all take them to the source — the writer who created the original content! In that way do we still have to speak about plagiarism?

Any thoughts about the ethic of linking to an article and plagiarism are welcome!

I think this is a really good point, Laure. In my opinion if you use something from another source and put a link back to the original site, it gives the reader/audience the best possible opportunity to follow your thought processes and also it increases the visibiliity of the original source.

I think it's a good solution and it is not plagiarism because you have recognised where the information has come from. Perfect!
