I've just been reading about blog directories and how they affect search engines. If we are maintaining a blog, should we be thinking about submitting the blog to some of these blog directories?

Blogs are the new social tools to be used on the web today! They are just so good at creating networks between users who share the same activities or have similar interests as you.

Publishing blogs through blog directories looks really interesting as we know already the power of link building activities and of publishing main websites links, but I think you really need to take into account a few points before choosing a directory: First, what is its current position on the search engines, its reputation?? And what kind of blog does it publish on its pages? (Professional directory or not - be careful to spams!!?)

Anyone, any other thoughts about the power of blog directories??? tks - L
